ABOUT SHPSHFTR
SHPSHFTR is a professionally presented, independent gallery space located in the heart of Nambucca Heads.
Built by an artist for artists, the gallery operates on a curated, self-hosted exhibition model. We provide the space, structure and visibility – you bring the work and the audience.
This is not a passive wall rental. It is a platform for considered exhibitions, artist-led events and real engagement in a prime main street location.
OUR MISSION
SHPSHFTR exists to create accessible, professional exhibition opportunities for independent artists.
We believe artists should have:
• Autonomy over their presentation
• Transparent exhibition structures
• Direct connection to their audience
• Full ownership of their work and sales
Quality over quantity. Each exhibition is reviewed and approved to maintain a high standard across the program.
While our foundations include digital and blockchain-based art infrastructure, our current focus is building meaningful physical exhibition experiences that bring artists and collectors together in real space.
THE EXHIBITION MODEL
Weekly Exhibition Cycle
Tuesday
Final viewing and bump-out of the previous exhibition
Gallery open 10am – 4pm
All works must be removed by 6pm
Wednesday
Installation / bump-in for the new exhibition
10am – 6pm
Thursday
Opening night
6pm – 8pm
Public Exhibition Hours
Mon – Friday
11:00am – 5:00pm
Sat
10:00am - 4pm
Sun
10:00am - 2pm
Weekly & Multi-Week Exhibitions
For standard weekly and multi-week exhibitions, the gallery operates on the weekly cycle shown above.
The Wednesday, installation (bump-in) and Tuesday bump-out are already factored into the exhibition week and apply automatically to all standard bookings.
For exhibitions running two or more weeks, installation and opening night occur only during the first week, and the exhibition then continues under normal public hours until the final Tuesday bump-out.
Pop-Up / One-Night Exhibitions
The Pop-Up / One-Night option is a short-format exhibition where installation, opening, and de-installation occur on the same day.
Artists install the exhibition prior to the opening event and remove all works once the event concludes.
Premium Bump-In and Premium Bump-Out options apply only to the Pop-Up / One-Night format, allowing additional installation or removal days if selected during booking.
FOR ARTISTS
SHPSHFTR is application-based.
We welcome:
• Solo exhibitions
• Duo exhibitions
• Group shows
• Short pop-up activations
All proposals are reviewed to ensure alignment with the gallery’s direction and presentation standards.
This is a space for artists who are ready to step forward and take ownership of their exhibition.
